Yangtze River is the largest river in China and the third longest river in the world, next to the Nile in Africa and the Amazon in South America. Rising in Tanggula Mountain, the Yangtze River flows eastwards and pours itself into the East China Sea. Measuring about 6,380 km (3,964 miles), it mainly runs across Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, Sichuan, Yunnan, Chongqing, Hubei, Hunan, Jiangxi, Anhui, Jiangsu and Shanghai from west to east. The Yangtze Three Gorges starts from Fengjie of Chongqing and ends in Yichang, extending 193KM.With highly reputation of natural beauties and historical remains and cultural heritages, it won the second position to none in China's natural Beauty Spots Competition in 1991.
